What a fantastic hotel. We had room 13 Ribblesdale which was up several flights of stairs but the view was wonderful and we had a huge sofa and easy chair and the bed was colossal. The bathroom had both a big bath and shower and it was pure luxury and all very newly done. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and the food was marvellous - the 10 course tasting menu was worthy of a Michelin star and we have been lucky enough to eat at plenty of Michelin star restaurants, The courses were beautifully balanced and small so that 10 courses did not overfill. The main 'brasserie' menu was also good and the food was tasty and unusual - the portions were a bit on the small side if you are a hearty eater or had been out walking all day as we had and I admit we did have a couple of snacks later on in our room! The location is fantastic for walking and it is so quiet and peaceful at night. We will definitely be back again.

Had a night away - beautiful hotel and grounds in a fabulous setting. We had an suite recently updated in the attic which was fabulous. The bed and pillows were excellent. However, the food was very disappointing. We had the 10 course tasting menu - unfortunately each course was literally 1 mouthful - tasted lovely but we were still hungry. Full English breakfast was mediocre, uninspiring and dry. We were told to help ourselves to the buffet which was simply cereal, no fruit, pastries etc. The staff were lovely but seemed inexperienced. Overall we were very disappointed especially for the price. We will not be returning.

We had the 10 course tasting menu and shared a couple of bottles of wine. Excellent

Beautiful historic place to stay during our trip to the Yorkshire Dales. We were lucky to have the ground floor norber suite room that is off to the side of a small sitting room, so it was extra private and felt like our own wing. The mattress could use a refresh but everything else was wonderful.

We enjoyed a one night stay at the Traddock in room 6, which has an en suite with a bath and a lovely view over the garden. Our small dog Millie stayed with us and enjoyed her stay too (small £10 supplement for dog).
The service was excellent, particularly the lovely lady on reception at check in and check out. The bar is very cosy with lots of small cosy rooms/snugs to relax in as well as some board games you can play! We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but enjoyed the breakfast - with plenty veggie options. Would highly recommend a stay here!

We had a wonderful two night stay at The Traddock in January. A very warm welcome on arrival both by the coal fire and the staff. Our room was immaculate and the bed, very comfortable. Both evening meal menus were excellent and our dietary requirements taken into account. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, we were unable to take advantage of the many walks available in the area, but we will do this on future visits.
A special birthday celebration made even more special. Thank you.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Absolutely beautiful surroundings of natural beauty with plenty of walks on your doorstep. This hotel is a hidden gem! Staff welcoming and our suite was out of this world!
Rooms: Our suite top floor was spacious & had stunning views. Had a large separate shower with a rolled top bath that again you could just look at the view. Beautiful
Food & drinks: There’s a fine dining restaurant in-house or a local pub around the corner.

Booked a short weekend break with no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Payed for breakfast and dinner beforehand which I would recommend doing as it will save you some pennies. The room was small for the price but adequate for our needs and the food was as nice as the reviews and the staff were friendly.

Disappointing
Great food but dining experience spoiled by location of tables some diners were seated in the bar area which to me is not conducive to fine dining. ( we would have refused to eat there) We felt let down by not being seated in the room that was referred to as the dining room after being asked to book a time for both dinner and breakfast.
One waitress was very pleasant the other who had a broken accent was at times most unpleasant and not helpful as if she couldn’t be bothered .
The meals were superb
Room had shower and toilet in no more than a cupboard and wash-hand basin in a corner of the bedroom
Very comfortable bed and lovely bedding
